High humidity in Hong Kong causes clothes to become mouldy, especially for long term storage of clothing and garments.
Designed for Hong Kong, a city with 7+ Million residents that experences
70%+ Humidity in June and where empty shelf space is rare and a luxury. It brought the challenge of creating a solution that takes into consideration the long – medium term storage of clothes.
This becomes more intricate since, because of the high humidity, most people in Hong Kong does not open their windows to air out a room, and while most people dehumidify their living spaces, enclosed spaces such as closets and cabinets are often left out.
How it works
HumiTex circulates and dehumidifies the air inside a closet. The user is notified whenever the water container needs emptying through their phone and via a light on the front of the device.
Made to be discrete
HumiTex is designed to disappear when in the closet, saving valuable space and letting the clothes be the main focus.
